Pour prolonger votre rituel
A corner of your home that reminds you, every day, of what you have chosen to honor.
An altar is not about religion. It's a small space — on a shelf, on a windowsill, on your bedside table — that gathers objects that speak to you. A candle. A stone. A pulled card. A photo. A written word. A sprig of dried plant.
The altar marks the presence of the sacred in the ordinary. It reminds you, every time your gaze falls upon it, that you have chosen something for this season of your life.
My Ideal Altar is an AURÆN printable kit that guides you to create your own — without guilt, without expensive materials, without intimidating rules.
What you receive
- A 30-page PDF guide that explains the history of the home altar (from the Roman hearth to contemporary feminine altars), essential components, and 8 altar archetypes from which you can choose yours.
- An A2 printable poster "Anatomy of an altar" — a visual AURÆN design to display to remind you of the key elements.
- A printable checklist of 24 questions to identify your altar archetype: elemental altar, seasonal altar, ancestor altar, goddess altar, threshold altar, intention altar, feminine cyclical altar, mobile altar.
- 4 printable seasonal cards to place on the altar (equinoxes and solstices) — to evolve the altar with the year.
- A 12-page journal to fill in month by month: what rests on your altar, what you place there, what you remove from it.
The 8 proposed altar archetypes
- The elemental altar — one object per element (earth, water, fire, air, ether). Sober, balanced, timeless.
- The seasonal altar — which changes four times a year, to the rhythm of the Sabbats.
- The ancestor altar — to honor those who came before.
- The goddess altar — for those who want to invoke an archetypal figure (Hecate, Lilith, Isis, Mary, Yemanjá…).
- The threshold altar — placed at the entrance, to mark the passage between outside and inside.
- The intention altar — centered around a project, a decision, an ongoing prayer. Evolves with the project.
- The feminine cyclical altar — synchronized with your menstrual cycle and the moon.
- The mobile altar — for those who travel, in a box or a pouch.
For whom?

- Therapists who want to set up a sacred corner in their practice, without religious connotation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have to be a believer or practitioner of a religion?
No. The home altar is a secular practice that exists in all cultures, religious or not. You can create an altar without adhering to any specific belief — it's simply a space you choose to honor.
How much space do I need in my home?
An altar can be 30 cm × 30 cm. It's not the size that matters, it's the attention you give it.
I live with a partner / in a shared apartment, how do I explain the altar?
The guide addresses this question in the section "The discreet altar" — how to set up an altar that can pass for decoration if you don't wish to discuss it.
Do I need to buy a lot of materials?
No. An altar is built with what you have: a candle already in your home, a stone picked up on a walk, a postcard that touches you, a sprig of dried rosemary. The guide emphasizes that "the altar is not bought, it is gathered".
Does my altar have to remain still?
No — a good altar evolves. You add to it, remove from it, purify it each season. The included monthly journal helps you track these changes.
Can I gift it?
Yes — it's a thoughtful gift for a friend starting a spiritual practice, for a move, for a breakup, or for a birthday that calls for more depth than a decorative object.
To go further
This work is for personal practice, with no prescriptive therapeutic or divinatory aim. The proposed altar is culturally ecumenical and does not imply any particular religious belief.
Energy becomes elegance.
